At Swiss Entrepreneurship, we attach the utmost importance to protecting your privacy and securing your data. We minimise data collection and only gather what is strictly necessary. All automatically generated data is stored in compliance with European and Swiss data protection standards.

1. Purpose and Scope

This policy is intended to inform users of the website swiss-entrepreneurship.ch about how we collect and process their personal data when they browse and use the site.

2. Definitions

Personal data includes any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural or legal person. This may include, for example: name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, health status, or online behaviour.

Usage data refers to data that may be collected automatically when using the website.

The data subject is any natural person whose personal data is being processed.

The user is the person who uses the website. This term refers to the person concerned, i.e. the person whose personal data is collected.

Cookies are small data sets stored on the user’s computer – more precisely, small text files saved on the hard drive that provide specific information depending on their function.
When they browse the web or use mobile apps, internet users are increasingly tracked by various actors analysing their browsing behaviour, movements, and consumption habits, notably in order to offer targeted advertising or personalised services. This tracking is carried out using technical tools known as “trackers”, among which cookies are included.

3. Data Controller

The data controller is the person who determines (alone or jointly with others) the purposes and means of processing personal data. For swiss-entrepreneurship.ch, the data controller is:

Swiss Entrepreneurship
Dougoud Maya

All data protection queries should be sent to the following e-mail address: maya.dougoud@hefr.ch.

4. Purpose of Data Processing

Swiss Entrepreneurship uses as little information as possible. Where data is collected, it is for the purpose of optimising the functioning of the website and/or ensuring the proper execution of operations, as well as for marketing purposes.

As a rule, personal data is not passed on to third parties unless we are legally obliged to do so.

Cookies may be stored on the user’s computer. However, these cookies cannot run programs or transmit viruses. They are used to improve the user’s experience on the website.

The website swiss-entrepreneurship.ch uses cookies that differ according to how long they are stored.

First, there are transient cookies, which are automatically deleted from the user’s computer as soon as they close their browser. These session cookies store an identifier that allows the user’s computer to be recognised on a subsequent visit to the same site.

Persistent cookies, on the other hand, are deleted after a specific period of time, depending on the type of cookie. They can be deleted at any time in the browser’s security settings. If they are not deleted, these cookies may remain stored on the computer or mobile device for up to two years and are automatically deactivated at the end of their programmed lifetime.

The user can configure their browser to reject all cookies or to alert them when a cookie is sent. The user can also manually delete cookies already stored via their browser settings at any time. For further information on this and for a list of the cookies used, the user should check their browser’s help section. However, if the user does not accept cookies, some parts of the website may not function properly or may become inaccessible.

The purposes of the cookies are as follows:

  • Necessary cookies:
These help make the website usable by enabling basic functions like page navigation and access to secure areas of the website. The website cannot function properly without these cookies.

  • Statistics / performance cookies:
These help the website owner understand how visitors interact with the website by collecting and reporting information anonymously.

These are used to display targeted advertising, mainly within external video players.

  • Security cookies:
These cookies are collected for security reasons.

6. Data Retention

Swiss Entrepreneurship will only retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this policy. Personal data will be stored and used to the extent necessary to comply with legal obligations and to resolve disputes.
